Faceting  is  the  ancient  art  of  carefully  cutting  and  polishing  flat  facets  onto  the  surfaces of transparent or translucent materials.  If the craftsman or woman performing this task cuts these facets to very specific angles, the light that enters the stone will reflect  dazzling  patterns  of  light  and  shadow  back  to  the  viewer’s  eyes.  In  the  hands  of  a  master  craftsman,  the  results  can  be  breathtaking!

  Ahhh...
